Sous Chef

Hours: 37
Salary: £20,000
Location: Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery

We are a leading city centre restaurant with an excellent reputation for outstanding food and currently have position available for a permanent contract qualified chef to join the team. You will be predominantly based at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery but will be required to work across all Museum sites when the business requires.

Proven experience in a similar style kitchen operation is essential, along with the willingness to work with the existing team to always strive to take the food offering to a new and exciting level. Have knowledge of menu design along with a thorough understanding of both cost and wastage control is also required.

Must possess a genuine passion for cooking and be able to meet production targets and service deadlines. As an individual you must have at least 2 years’ experience working within a busy kitchen in a similar quality establishment and hold City and Guilds 7061/2 or equivalent in food production and cooking, be qualified to level 2 in Food Safety and hold a recognised Health and Safety qualification (or be willing to undertake training to obtain) and have the willingness to learn new skills and develop within the team. Team work, good time keeping and a can do attitude with the ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines is a must.

Conference and Banqueting Sales Coordinator

Salary: £22,000
Location: Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery 

This role will support growth of business for Birmingham Museums’ Conference and Banqueting service across nine unique venues in Birmingham. The key role of the post holder will be to sell and promote Birmingham Museums' extensive venue hire portfolio in line with department sales targets. We are looking for someone who will generate new sales leads and will work as part of the team to develop and maintain client relationships. 

The role will also involve managing the smooth and efficient running of external and internal events, and coordinating the appropriate staff to ensure clients’ expectations are exceeded.

The right candidate will be target driven, an experienced sales person and will have a track record of delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, driven and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude, someone who wants to see Birmingham Museums grow and succeed in this market place. We're looking for a flexible team player; this role will involve work with people across the organisation and a wide range of clients.

Food & Beverage Assistant (Casual)

Casual Contract
Salary: £8.25 per hour

We are currently recruiting for Food & Beverage Assistants to work across Birmingham Museum Trust sites including but not limited to the Edwardian Tearooms which is one of Birmingham’s most beautiful interior spaces, and provides a wide range of visitor services; including hot and cold food, fresh coffee and a wide range of snacks.

As a vital part of the Food & Beverage team, this role ensures that our customers experience a high level of service, ensuring that high hygiene standards are consistently met.

With experience of providing excellent customer care in a food and beverage setting, the ideal candidate will be able to assist with the preparation of food, maintain the cleanliness of the public areas and confidently handle cash.
