A weekend of Tudor fun as re-enactors, Sir Robert Cecil’s Men visit Blakesley Hall delivering talks, drama and demonstrations. Have a go at Tudor games, Quill pen writing, and Tudor dancing. Also listen to traditional Tudor musicians in the Hall and dress up as a Tudor for children.

Tudor Music & Dancing

Dance with traditional Tudor dancers, who will show you the moves so you can join in.

Feather Quill Writing

Tudor writers wrote with feather quills. Learn how to use one for yourself.

Tudor Travelling Camp

Meet a traditional, travelling players camp. Tudor characters living, preparing food, and preparing textiles as they would have done in Tudor times. Also take part in playing games that the Tudor's would have played.

Sword Fighting

Watch sword fighting demonstrations and learn about the different skills Tudor warriors would have used in battle. Take a closer look at some of the different types of weapons and armour they would have used.

Costumed Tours of Blakesley Hall

Learn about over four centuries of the history of Blakesley Hall by taking a tour of the House with one of our knowledgeable tour guides dressed in traditional Tudor attire.

Performances

A performance of Shakespeare's Richard the III as well as a performance of the battle scenes from Shakespeare's Henry V - Henry V will require the assistance of young volunteers to be the English army on stage!
